Day 146: Death of a Horse
Three days ago, one of the cats Babitjie was put down, due to kidney failure.
Two days ago we put down one of our Horses Titan, due to carcinoma in
his throat – resulting in him not being able to drink or eat.
After Titan’s death we had to make new arrangements for the stables, as
Titan had been stabled in between Grootman and Charlie, and we didn’t
want Grootman to have an empty stable next to him, with no buddy to keep
him company. So we then scrubbed down the walls of Titan’s stable, as
it had a lot of his saliva on it due to him not being able to swallow
anymore and snorting it all over the place. We took out all his hay and
cleaned up all his tools. It was very hot so this turned out to be quite
a job.
In the evening we put Grootman in Titan’s old stable and he was a bit
fidgety but otherwise okay. The next day Titan was buried. That
afternoon, Grootman was very active in the stable. While me and Cerise
were finishing up (we stayed a bit later because we exercised
our horses), Grootman started neighing a bit and pawing around. He
could still smell Titan in the stable but couldn’t see / find him
anywhere. He then also started pawing around with his front feet and
laying down. I thought he was just a bit anxious
because he was missing Titan but then he kept on pawing, laying down,
getting up again and laying down. Cerise then said that these are signs
of colic, which indicates that the horse is having stomach pain and have some form of gastrointestinal problems. His stomach was not obviously cramping but his breathing
was vey quick. Titan had previously had slight colic which we were able
to work through using homeopathy, but this seemed more severe, and we
had to call the vet – once again – as colic can be fatal (horses can’t
puke, so if something’s stuck in their stomach they’re in trouble). He
was also getting pretty gassy.
We went and took him for a walk to get his gut moving and assist the
process. He was not getting better and the vet advised that while we
wait for her, to get him to run as long as he was showing signs. We
started off with Cerise, Fidelis, Gian and I (but Fidelis is physically
weak at the moment, so he had to stay on the side), each taking turns
running with him through the camp. First we’d just run with him as fast
as we could the whole time. But it was hot, and we were getting tired
pretty quickly. We then would walk him at a firm pace to the gate, and
run him back as fast as we could, and switch people. Before I went on
one of my next runs, I asked Gian to call Maite for backup, because we
were already pretty exhausted. So by the time I got back from my run,
all the people from the farm were there, ready to take over taking turns
running with Grootman. After that, it was easier to keep him going
while waiting for the vet.
The vet then eventually arrived, and gave him some meds for colic. She
then went on putting her arm all the way through his bumhole, to check
whether all the organs were still in place and to detect any
irregularities. She took out some poo while she was at it but otherwise
everything seemed normal. We then had to tube him (where a tube is put
through his nose into the esophagus and into the stomach) to give him
electrolytes straight into his tummy. We then had to wait a bit to see
how he would respond to the treatment.
He wasn’t responding and was actually getting worse. She gave him some
more meds to calm him down and to relax his muscles, to ease the pain
and make it easier for things to move inside himself. He was getting
pretty roused up and had to sedate him. Then we had to wait and see how
he would respond. The vet left to have supper , and if things got worse
we’d have to call her to come back, as we’d then have to empty his
stomach in case he was suffering
from a gastric impaction. I then left to post Bernard’s blog. After I
was done I wanted to go check up on him, and saw that the vet’s car was
back…
He wasn’t doing well and we had to get all the fluids out of his
stomach. Because he was in so much pain, he was heavily sedated and
couldn’t walk properly, and some people had to always stand next to him
and hold his head, which we again did in turns. It was quite a story as
you never know where the end of the tube is exactly in the stomach, as
it would have to be right in the pocket with water and food to get it
out through the tube. We did this for over an hour, maybe two until the
vet assessed that since it wasn’t working, that it was probably not a
gastric impaction. It then could be that one of his insides got twisted,
which would reduce the blood flow in the organs which obviously would
be quite problematic. She went for another anal probe, but couldn’t say
what he had, as her arm could only reach so far inside him and check
only so many organs. We then only had two options left, either we send
him in for surgery to find out for sure what was going on inside – or we
keep him doped up and hopefully he would work through whatever it was
by himself.
Surgery for horses, and especially such a big one, is very invasive and
the vet said that most horses are not the same afterwards, both in
character and physically – where most of the time they suffer from the
aftermath and are compromised for the rest of their life. And such
surgeries are very risky and since they are big animals,
the anaesthetics involved is also not optimal for them. We did not see
this as an option, as it would be too much of a compromise, so we went
for the second option. The vet left half an hour after midnight, and
we’d have to watch him during the course of the night to see how he
progressed. We had some drug
injections we would have to give him to moment he would start pawing,
cramping or rolling and laying up and down again. Fidelis and Rozelle
stayed with him all night. Me and Gian went to sleep
around 1 – 1.30 to get a little bit of sleep, as we were going to need
people in the early morning and next day to keep and eye on him while
others would rest. We slept for about 3 hours and went back down.
Rozelle and Fidelis gave us an update, he was doing pretty well, walking
around, grazing and he had a poo (which means stuff was moving inside)
and while the four of us were there he had another poop. As it was
getting more light and closer to our morning horses routine, Rozelle and
Fidelis went to sleep and me Gian and Cerise took over watching him. He
started looking uncomfortable again, and called the vet. She told us to
take him for a 30 min walk while she was busy finishing up with another
horse and she would try and come as soon as she could. Cerise took
Grootman and I took Charlie, and we walked him around the field close to
the herd (previously we tried walking him alone, but his was neighing a
lot and kept on looking at his friends which were still in the stable).
After the 30 minute walk in the sun, my knees getting burnt and all the various weeds scratching my skin
open – we stopped for a bit to see how he was responding. He stood a
bit, grazed for 30 sec next to Charlie and then he went back to laying
down.
This was not a good sign.
We called the vet again, this time she suggested we work him out on the
long line – to try and keep him in to canter for at least 10 min. Cerise
started working him, but it was hot, we were all very tired so after a
few minutes I took over and did my best to get him to run hard and fast –
but it was just not working. I was exhausted, my legs were in pain, and
my shorts were too big and kept falling down which were not really
optimum conditions to work with a horse lol. He did poo then about 4
times while we lunged him, which was cool. I went to gather my strength
in the shade underneath a little tree, while Cerise walked him allowing
him to cool down from the run. Once she was done, he went back laying
down on the ground, got up, got down and then he stayed there. It was
not looking good. If he had another colic relapse, we were serious
trouble and would probably have to put him down as well, as he was in
major pain. So you can imagine, with the previous events that had taken
place in the last few days and us being physically exhausted from all
that had happened and we had done so far – it was quite tough. Cerise
put the phone down, and said Leila – run, get the injections. I was
still knocked out from running him, but had to just get up and run, run,
run down the field to the feedroom to get the injections. He wasn’t
doing good and we had to buy him as much time as possible. As I was
running down, my whole body was so soar, and I was running but it was
slow, like in a dream
where you are being chased and you just want to run fast but it’s like
you’re running through water and more running in slow motion than
anything else. So I got the injections, ran back up and Cerise injected
him. We kept him with us underneath the little tree in the shade, as we
didn’t want him to possible lay down in the sun and dehydrate. He calmed
down and after a bit all the horses came running up to us/him and kept
him company. After about 20 min or so, he started eating and he seemed
pretty okay so we took off the lead to see what would happen next.
I had asked Charlie earlier to take care of Grootman, as Titan had always been his buddy in the field and now he was feeling
lost and alone. Initially Grootman was following Charlie around and
then later Charlie also kept up with Grootman, which was cool for him to
have someone there while he’s sorting himself out.
After two hours or so, he was still grazing and hadn’t shown any signs.
We called the vet, as the painkillers had worn off and he was doing
okay, so she was not going to come anymore as there wasn’t anything she
would be able to do, we’d call her if he got worse and needed a second
injection. So we were now at the moment of truth – he was off drugs and
it was now all on him. Cerise, me, Fidelis and Gian watched him for most
of the day in the field, in the heat (it got up to 36 degrees Celsius).
We eventually moved out from the tree because our shade spot was
getting smaller and smaller and we were already pretty burnt, and moved
to the stables where we settled down with some comfy camping chairs and
watched him from a far. We watched a movie for a bit and Sunette made us
some nice cheese toasted sandwiches which our hungry tummies welcomed
very much, along with some nice cold fruit smoothie Maya had made. Our
bodies were recuperating a bit and Grootman seemed to have settled down,
grazing normally staying close to Charlie.
At around 2PM the two Maya’s came to relieve us. I went to wash myself
up a bit and crashed down into bed – waking up later by Cerise calling
me for horses time in the evening – I had slept straight through my
alarm. We shifted the stables again so Grootman was back in old one and
moved the others one up. So far Grootman has been stable – which is
great, which means he worked through whatever it was himself with the
time we “bought” him, our efforts had not been in vain, and seeing him get back to his normal self made all exhaustion disappear for a moment.
So the last few days have been quite hectic. We’ve all had to make some
tough decisions, work together, and push ourselves physically for the
sake of the horses’ well being (even if that meant death for one of
them, it was still the best for his well being). With all these things
happening, unexpectedly, and one after another – there’s not much time
to think or wonder off in your mind, and it’s really a matter of being
here, constantly assessing and just acting according to what would be
best.
So even though the events were unfortunate, it was quite a cool
experience in terms of having to deal with these things. I always
thought that you have to be a “tough person” to be able to work with
animals being sick, animals having to be put down, and being there when
they die. Working through the Desteni
Process, I realise this is not true. It’s not about putting on an
armour, suppressing your personal emotions and feelings and keeping
everything bottled up and making decisions based on what you experience.
Once you walk and base your decisions on what’s Best for all, your
course of action is pretty much determined, and you just stick to that
one principle. Within that sure, it’s sad because what was happening was
unfortunate – but it was not devastating as how I used to experience
myself in the case of the death of animals, because I knew, whatever the
outcome, we were doing what was Best, and anything less, yes, would
have been devastating, but could only come about as a result of personal
compromise – where you experience internal turmoil because you know you
are not acting to support the animal in the best possible way, but are
allowing personal interest to override – where one could for instance
keep an animal alive for the sake of ‘holding on’ while the animal is
suffering unnecessarily. Then you stop caring for the animal, and only
care for yourself.
If you’re doing the best you can within the limits of what is possible,
and stick to making decisions that are best for the animal – the
experience of walking through these points and dealing with becomes
completely different, because you have that point of stability as the
principle you stand by.
It’s also then, that the limits we’ve imposed within this reality become
more emphasised. Once your inner shit is out of the way, the shit
existent within this world as the rules and conditions we live by are as
clear as day. Because you’re always doing your best within the limits
of what is possible, but what is possible currently is not a definitive
point. For instance, we had to do a lot of guess work and test out lots
of different things with the horse, like the anal probing and the
tubing – which is not a nice experience for a healthy
horse, so just imagine what it’s like for a sick horse – and these, are
quite “primitive” methods of diagnosing what is going on. I mean, the
technology exists to be able to see right through beings’ bodies, but
due to our distorted values of valuing money
over life and living in an economic and monetary system, such
technology is only available at great expense, often not making it an
option, and thus having to result to primitive, invasive methods of
treatment – while we could be living in a world where life is valued and
technology is openly available for all to use so that we can ACTUALLY
do our best within supporting and taking care of ourselves, animals and
nature to the highest level. Because right now, we can do our best, but
only so far – while we could reach a whole new level of being able to do
your best if only the conditions in place were different.
The world we live in and our daily experiences and struggles, could be
SO much different, if only we move ourselves to transform how we live on
Earth. I mean, there are so many unnecessary constrictions in place,
causing pain and suffering for so many being. So then you have a world
where generation after generation you have massive amounts of beings
suffering – for the sake of some having a blissful experience of
outrageous abundance for the duration of their lifespan.
It is madness, and it is maddening – as you can clearly see in the news
every day. The society we live in is not a healthy one, and as such its
producing unhealthy people doing insane things.
We do not have to live this way, we have an alternative – let’s stop the
madness, Prevention is the Best Cure – visit EqualMoney.org and participate in creating a world that
is Best for All.

Day 107: Showing my True Colours
This blog is a continuation to:
Day 106: Regret
I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to react within fear upon seeing the pups in the box, where I saw that it was not cool that these pups are here in a box with no food, no water – and that this situation obviously requires direction, where upon looking at what to do next and how things might possibly play out – I went into fear of what my parents will say about me taking the pups home to show them and see what we can do for them and feared it being a problem on the train where I didn’t want to get into trouble
I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to have gone into a point of stuckness when seeing that the train and my parents could be a possible problem/obstacle – where I looked at the intensity of the fear and the intensity of wanting to help the pups – and then decided that the fear had ‘more weight’ than me wanting to help the pups, and so I decided to walk away
I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself, to when I was looking at how to ‘take it from here’, have reacted to the possible point of the train and my parents being a problem – where I reacted to the person who checks the people on the train as being ‘authoritative’, and my parents as being ‘authoritative’ where their decision is the ‘final one’ where I did not trust myself to give a common sensical explanation to either one of them and then based on that decided for myself that it was ‘not worth it’ and ‘I shouldn’t bother’ because I did not want to place myself in a position faced with authority figures and ‘going against them’ and not being confident
I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to have decided that it was not worth for me to walk through and face my fears in order to be certain that the pups had been given direction and went to a safe place – where instead I decided to hold on to fear as self-limitation and walk away from the pups, walk away from the certainty that they will be okay
I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to have within that moment have chosen self-interest as holding on to fear as fear of self-change – where I did not want to move out of my comfort zone for the sake of others' wellbeing, but instead chose to not change, and take the chance of the pups being worse off than what they already were
I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to have attempted to sooth the shame within, where I would ‘build my case’ inside myself as thoughts/backchat, where I would think things like “Someone else will probably find them and take care of them”, so that I could justify my decision of walking away and distracting myself from the point of not wanting to change
I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to only afterwards change my mind, where I was feeling bad and based on the ‘feeling bad’ decided that I should check up on them – where I went to check where they had previously been and they were gone – where I first went “Oh shit” but then told myself, “Naaah, you see, someone took care of them, they’ll be alright” – while I actually did not have a clue what happened but just gave myself the answer that would make me feel the best about myself and make me forget about the event all together – where everything was seemingly ‘okay’
I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to let the fear of facing authority override common sense practicality and care – where I rather jeopardized the lives of other rather than having to face myself
I forgive myself that I haven’t accepted and allowed myself to see and realise that within that moment, my true face was shown – where I cared more about fear and maintaining self-limitation than Life

Day 89: Holding Back
This blog is a continuation:
Day 88: Fear of the Past Repeating Itself
I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to when I learn that there is a new birdie to be taken care of -- go both into a point of excitement and gloom -- where I am excited about meeting the new birdie and getting to know him and at the same time go into a point of 'gloom' of 'what if the bird does not make it' and -- "I shouldn't get ahead of myself, for all I know it'll be dead tomorrow or in the next few days"
I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to when I learn that there is a new birdie -- go into the past as memories as having had fun with birds in the past, where it was cool to be around them, play with them and simply observe them interact with reality -- where I within that moment go and access all the 'positively' charged memories -- and get excited about the prospect of being able to 're-live' those moments as re-living the positive energies associated with the memories
I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to when i learn that there is a new birdie -- go into the past as memories has having been sad in relation to birds upon finding out that they were hurt and thus probably going to die or upon finding out that they died -- where within that moment I go and access all of the 'negatively' charged memories -- and get sad about the prospect of possible 're-living' those moments as re-living the negstive energies associates with the memories
I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to respond to information in my environment/reality within automated reaction -- where I go and dig up all related/similar past events and upload them within and as me -- and use these memories as the various pictures and energies as emotions and feeling to 'define' the current moment -- and within this context, define my relationship with the found bird -- where I within that moment of receiving the information that there is a new birdie, and uploading/recycling the various memories of the past, I mold and shape my starting point of interaction with the birdie based on the past as past relationships with other birds -- where I limit my participation/interaction within the limited framework of the past as what I have already experienced/gone through -- and within that completely lose the moment / hereness of what is actually going on -- as I filter every moment through the past and put myself in a position where I am unable to assess/see any given moment/situation for what it is
I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to have created/established a relationship of hope/fear with the new birdie, even before I met it -- based on past experiences/memories -- where I hope to have an enjoyful relationship with the bird and at the same time fear losing the bird already
I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to go into a mode of 'reservefulness' -- where I accepted and allowed myself to 'hold back' within myself and interaction with the bird -- where I first want to see how things go and what is going to happen before I will allow myself to just be here and play/share with the birdie -- out of fear of being hurt when / if it dies
I forgive myself that I haven't accepted and allowed myself to see and realise that by setting myself up to be 'reserved' I am in fact already placing myself within an experience of 'loss' -- where I am not allowing myself to actually be here and participate/interact with the birdie unconditionally -- and within that already 'take away' that which I fear losing as simply being comfortable and having fun with the bird -- and within that I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to within a distorted sense of wanting to be in control of the situation, go and deny myself having fun with the bird -- so that it is ME deciding to deny myself this, where it is not something 'happening' to me to which I react -- where I believe that because I am initiating the point of witholding as not allowing myself to unconditionally enjoy the bird -- that I am in control and will not get hurt if the birdie dies, as I never allowed myself to get close to the bird in the first place
I forgive myself that I haven't accepted and allowed myself to see and realise that it is in fact a waste to be 'reserved' and to 'hold back' -- as I am merely denying myself to bere here, comfortable -- whether or not something happens to the bird -- where within just being here, comfortable and sharing/expressing, I am making the best out of being here with the bird, regardless of 'how much time' spent with the bird in terms of lifespan -- and where if I hold myself back/ am reserved -- I am merely compromising myself and the bird for the sake of holding on to my fear

Day 88: Fear of the Past Repeating Itself
Yesterday another birdie was found on the farm.
I was busy studying while I heard Gian getting a call in the room. He came out and his face had an expression of hesistation, and a slight grin/smile -- as he said that Fidelis found a birdie.
I shared him the same face/expression back -- because each time we find a birdie, we go into that space of uncertainty: What type of Bird is it (as this influences how easy/difficult it is to take care of them)? Is it hurt? Will the bird make it?
Then, about 15 minutes after Gian had left to get the birdie, he came into the house with his hand closed, with the again the same facial expression as he said: "It's a TweeTweet".
There, my heart skipped a beat, because we had previously taken care of a birdie, TweeTweet, -- which we at that time we thought to be a Fiscal Flycatcher, but now after revision, we found out it's actually a Fiscal Shrike -- where we had a lot of fun/interesting times with the birdie, until it tragically died/drowned two years ago.
Now, this birdie -- looks EXACTLY the same as TweeTweet, and is at the exact same physical development stage as when we found TweeTweet two years ago. This species of bird is the only one we've had so far (well, besides the two Parrots which we still had to feed by hand, and the chick and gosling) that is totally okay with being around Humans and is easy to feed, as it will just cry/scream and open its mouth wide whenever it is hungry.
So whenever there's the point of a new 'birdie', I slightly go into the fear of 'what if' -- as not many birdies have made it so far. And now that the birdie was a TweeTweet, I went into it a bit more as I don't want to go through the same point in the past. When we first had TweeTweet, we were quite 'new' and 'innocent' in relation to the whole taking care of baby birds thing. But now that we've had to deal with many deaths, I am now more fearful when handling/taking care of them. Birds have this thing where their head gets all loose and floppy and it looks like it has lost all of its strength, which usually means a point of 'giving up' on the side of the bird, where the birdie does not see itself surviving and just 'gives up', where the head will start wobbling and flopping to the back or side, and usually soon after the birdie will die within having made that decision of 'giving up'.
So now for instance, with this new birdie, each time I see its head move in a direction that may possible be this 'floppy head' movement, I experience a little shock of "OH NO, what if he/she's going into it!". Which usually only happens for a split of a second as the birdie is moving its head to reach to its chest to for instance preen itself.
So now I have an opportunity to walk through this point again.
Though now there's also some additional points to consider, since last time that we had TweeTweet we only had her, the lizards and a little sparrow -- and she could pretty much roam the room without disturbing anyone.
Now we have the Parrots and they may possible go into a point of conflict with one another if either one perceives the other to be more dominant. So there I saw I had an additional fear of 'how is this going to work out with the Parrots'.

I was busy studying while I heard Gian getting a call in the room. He came out and his face had an expression of hesistation, and a slight grin/smile -- as he said that Fidelis found a birdie.

Day 26: Ticks and Tick Bite Fever
When I was a kid, me and my older brother and sister joined our
local Scouting group and we’d do lots of outdoor activities and go on out on
camps etc.
During that time I would hear stories from other kids within
the group and other friends who were in scouting groups about kids who had gone
camping with their scouting group and that a kid from their group had died
during the night, and that they later found out that it was due to tick bites (or similar types of stories).
It was interesting, because these stories would go around as
“horror stories” and from then on I was really scared of long grass and not
wearing high boots and long pants in long grass from the fear of ticks and other
bugs getting on to me and biting me.
Then years later I came to the Farm and there ticks became a
part of daily life. Horses had ticks, dogs had ticks, cats had tick – humans had
ticks! That was a bit of a shocker for me, because now all those horror stories
started creeping up again going “don’t get bitten, you’re gonna DIE!!!” Lol
In the beginning I had some issues with pulling off ticks
from the dogs and the horses, especially those who’d been sucking for a while
and they’re one big blood balloon, and once you pull them you kind of squash
them at the same time and the blood then squirts around you, and in some
unfortunate cases on you and your face (and in even more unfortunate events in your eyes and mouth).
But as it became a habit of pulling and killing ticks, it
just became ‘normal’.
Then, last week Friday evening I started feeling very
nauseous, feverish, my neck was stiffening up, I had a headache and I noticed
that one of my lymph nodes by my groin was quite swollen. At first I didn’t
connect all the symptoms together until I remember that I had an itchy insect
bite close to the lymph node that was swollen (I didn't even know that it was a tickbite, as I had been scratching it through my pants and assumed it was a mosquito bite).
The next day we went to the
doctor and they confirmed that I had tick bite fever. They wanted to keep me in
the hospital for a few days, where the doctor was referring to some very rare
cases where this type of tick bite fever causes brain problems and where once or
twice a year they will have someone with the same symptoms that they have to
hook up on respirators. So I as I heard that of course, I went into complete
fear mode “what? Attack my brain? Be hooked up on machinery? Nooooooo” yet at the same time I could feel the deception coming from the doctor using fear to keep me in the hospital
for a few days (which is very, VERY costly). Since a bunch of other people had
had tick bite fever on the farm, and were all treated at home successfully with
lots of rest and the right medicine, we requested to not be admitted and rather
be discharged (so they can stop CHARGING us lol).
So now I’ve been sick for over a week, with some definitive
improvement where I’m not in pain and feverish all the time, but it will creep
up and subside in random patterns/cycles. The bite was pitch black with red
around it (the black being dead skin tissue), and today the black bit got pushed
out by my body, and now there’s just a hole in my leg that's busy healing.
It’s been quite an interesting week in terms of looking at
all the fears and other bullshit that comes up in relation to being sick. And then
also interesting in terms of being forced out of my normal daily schedule and
being able to see all the various ideas and rules I had made up about my daily
routine and tasks, which now seem obviously ridiculous – but while I was “in my
pattern” as all the various things I had created and attached to my daily
routines, and participating within it = I didn’t see it at all.
For some reason
my legs are also quite weak and I can only walk in “slow motion style” which
has also been cool for me because I tend to rush from point A to B within the ‘menial’
little things we do in everyday life like eating, putting your dishes away, fetching this and that -- where
I saw myself wanting to go into the same pattern of rushing but then as I turn
around to move myself from point A to B, my body would literally hold me back
and then I got reminded that I can only do the slow-mo walk – so I have been
enjoying this point as well as literally having to slow myself down and being
aware of every step I take.
So yeah, the whole being in pain and puking part sucks ass
but at the same time it also shows you how a small thing like a tick can put
your life ”upside down” for a moment and show you what really matters: which is
this physically reality -- and that the mind as all the thoughts, feeling,
emotions and back chat is really puny and non-important. Because while you’re
sick all that matters is you as your physical body getting better and all the
thoughts, worries, etc that I would experience during my daily life within my
usual ‘routine’ were now completely irrelevant, and I could now see how they
are completely unnecessary to living life.
I am quite grateful
for this somewhat painful reminder lol.

Day 4: Parrots
I was browsing
around a parrot forum the other day, to check whether some vegetable from the
garden would be safe to give to the parrots. As I was reading through a thread
about Parrots and diet, I read one post and I got a bit angry.
Giving your Parrot
sunflower seeds (only or a lot) is bad for its health as it is very fatty and
will cause liver problems later and your Parrot can die from it. Now, there was
one person on the forum who disagreed with everyone about not giving your Parrots
sunflower seeds, or at least very little. She stated that she herself doesn't
follow a healthy diet, but she eats what she likes and this makes her happy --
so she does the same for her Parrot in the name of letting him do what he wants
and 'love'.
So I got upset at
that point because that's an absolutely ridiculous excuse as to why you're not
feeding your animal a diet that's in the best interest of its body. Yet at the
same time there's no point in getting angry as we've manifested these type of points
all together -- myself included.
I forgive myself
that I have accepted and allowed myself to react into and as anger when reading
that someone does not give an animal a diet that support their body best
because they do not do it to themselves either
I forgive myself
that I haven't accepted and allowed myself to see and realise that getting
angry is not a solution towards human stupidity and ignorance
I forgive myself
that I have accepted and allowed myself wanting to save the parrot
I forgive myself
that I have accepted and allowed myself to contribute to a world where
self-interest prevails over what is best for all and within that what is best
for each individual
I forgive myself
that I have accepted and allowed myself to contribute to a world where it is
okay to abuse yourself and others because we all have the right of "free
speech" and the right to do whatever we want as our human happiness is the
only true and important measuring stick in terms of what has worth in this
world and what doesn't
I forgive myself
that I haven't accepted and allowed myself to see and realise that to defend
opinion and doing "whatever you want" from the starting point of
'free choice' is also the acceptance and protection of abuse
I forgive myself
that I have accepted and allowed myself to react to ignorance and the right of
"free choice" instead of seeing and realising that I too am part of
the cause of ignorance within this world
I forgive myself
that I haven't accepted and allowed myself to see and realise that it is not
justified for me to become angry at another as they are simply a reflection of
my own human nature
I forgive myself
that I have accepted and allowed myself to value "what I like" and
"what makes me happy" over what's best for all
I forgive myself
that I haven't accepted and allowed myself to see and realise that if I start
caring more about how I feel and less about how long I will live and support my
body -- that there is a problem
I forgive myself
that I have accepted and allowed myself to disregard my body in how it
functions, what it needs to take care of itself and what might be harmful for
it -- all in the name of how I want to feel within my mind as energy --
completely disregarding the unconditional support the body provides me every
day, every breath -- keeping me alive on this Earth.
I forgive myself
that I haven't accepted and allowed myself to see and realise that without my
body I am just a thought
I forgive myself
that I have accepted and allowed myself to impose my opinions and beliefs unto
my pets as what I believe they will like and will like me for it
I forgive myself
that I haven't accepted and allowed myself to care about what makes the body
happy
I forgive myself
that I have accepted and allowed myself to only care about my minds wellbeing
and within that neglect my body's well being
I forgive myself
that I have accepted and allowed myself to not care or regard my body because I
have no clue how it works and it's just kind of "there" doing all
these "things" -- instead of
pushing and moving myself to find out how me as every part of myself including
my body and all aspects which make up my body work and function and together
hold together "me" as the sum of all the parts together in one body
When and as I see
myself giving my mind precedence over my body -- I stop and I breathe. I see
and realise that within feeding the mind I am starving my body and in essence
killing myself slowly.
I commit myself to
the creation and establishment of a world where the human physical body and
animal bodies are part of basic education so that we may know how we function
and act in a way that actually benefits us as bodies
I commit myself to
the creation and establishment of a world where people won't have to stuff
themselves with food for the sake of "feeling happy" in contrast to
not being when not eating the particular food -- instead one is in a place of
support where one is content -- all the time -- period.
I commit myself to
the creation and establishment of a world where diet and food are part of basic
education as one of the building blocks of the educational foundation within a
child's life -- as food next to breathing is one of the most essential parts to
living as we are currently living within the world and is thus really something
that we should know about
I forgive myself
that I have accepted and allowed myself wanting to save every parrot that I see
being in misery
I forgive myself
that I haven't accepted and allowed myself to see and realise that wanting to
save all the parrots that I see as being in misery in terms of wanting to take
care of them myself is practically not feasible and does not address the real problem -- which is us human
beings and our economic system as a reflection of our inner greed
I forgive myself
that I haven't accepted and allowed myself to see and realise that there is
nothing I can do for all the parrots, birds and animals suffering in the world
as long as we don't fundamentally change the way we live and value things
I forgive myself
that I have accepted and allowed myself to feel sad that I cannot make a change
or have a "quick fix" for all the animals suffering at the hands of
human idiocy.
I forgive myself
that I have accepted and allowed myself to feel sad with myself within the
realisation that I am part of the problem and cause of this horrific
manifestation
I forgive myself
that I haven’t accepted and allowed myself to see and realise that I and
everyone else as myself created this world, this condition -- it is not a sad
situation "by accident" -- we created it to be this way
I forgive myself
that I have accepted and allowed myself to contribute to a world where it is
okay to disregard other beings and where they are defined as "other
species" which somehow makes it okay to treat them as "less
than" and do with them whatever we want
I forgive myself
that I have accepted and allowed myself to contribute to a world where we trick
and catch other beings so we can sell them and make money
I forgive myself
that I have accepted and allowed myself to contribute to a world where it is
seen as normal to take away and destroy the homes of other beings because
"hey we need more space to do "our thing"!"
I forgive myself
that I haven’t ever accepted and allowed myself to WAKE UP in the face of all
the atrocities that are happening in the world
I forgive myself
that I have accepted and allowed myself to believe that it is all too much and
too hard to change -- instead of seeing and realising that if we can create a
perfect absolute fuck up we can create an absolute fucking paradise
I commit myself to
the creation and establishment of a world paradise where all beings may live
equal and support one another as ourselves as we would like to be supported --
a world where humans are truly changed and treat all other beings as animals and
plants as equals
